Holiday Wreath Workshop at Bimberibon
Holiday Wreath Workshop
At Bimberibon
Hello Everyone!
I wanted to take a moment to share about last night’s holiday wreath workshop. From 4-6pm the kindest group of people from around Asheville came together to create seasonal wreaths. It was a blast. The majority of folks had never hand made a wreath before, and they all turned out incredibly (wait till you see the photos)! I was so impressed!
If you haven’t yet been to Bimberibon, or BBB as I like to call it, in West Asheville, stop reading this post and go there right now (lol, kidding… kind-of)! It is delicious, nutritious and a gorgeous space with it’s lush plant walls and cozy green leather covered booths. BBB specializes in real, healthy, “feel good” food, and last night they created the most delicious bounty of healthy holiday nibbles for the workshop. Thank you BBB!

Wreath Supplies Set Up
My wreath making guests were warmly welcomed, given name-tags (yes, I’m a first-grade teacher at heart!), and as they settled in with hot-cider, coffee, wine and a plate of yummy nibbles I gave a quick lesson in how to make wreaths. After about 20-mins they were off to make their wreaths. Watching each person choose their greenery and accent pieces is my favorite part! I love seeing one person select all Douglass Fir with a few pine cones, while another person’s eye’s light-up for the Juniper Cypress, Tallow berries and Lotus Pods! It reminds me how we are each drawn to different joys and that our unique individuality is beautiful!!
Floral selection for guests
After about an hour and a half of cutting, and wrapping and wire twisting — so many of my guests shared how meditative making the wreath was — we tied our wreaths off, took a hot-drink mini-break and added the accents to our wreaths. After adding velvety ribbons, bows, dried orange slices, pine cones and berries my guests marveled in what they had created in two swift hours! Each wreath created was special and unique. I love seeing them all side by side in the photos, and wowing at the fact that everyone had the same materials to choose from.
One of the things I LOVE about doing workshops is sharing the “hidden” parts of floristry. Before I did my floral education in England I would watch youtube videos and read books trying to discover how to make the beauty I would see in a florist’s photograph — I delight in being able to share with people about how to EASILY make beautiful things!
Final wreaths!
A huge thank you to all the participants who came out to flex their creativity, learn a new skill and try something new with their community! Well done!! I cannot wait for the next workshop!
